Masculine Thank You Card

Odd that my second post is also a card since I claimed never to make them in my last post. Not lying, I swear! I'm really just trying to get into a card making groove.

Supplies List:

  • Paper - My Minds Eye
  • Border Punch - Martha Stewart Crafts
  • Ribbon - Michael's
  • Embossing Powder - Zing
  • Rub On - American Crafts
  • Bird Stamp - Studio G
  • Ink - Color Box

Again, I used a double sided paper and a border punch for a more finished look. And I used an adhesive tape on the inside of the card to anchor the ribbon in place before tying it in the front. In retrospect, the card probably would have been improved by inking the edges with a cranberry, evergreen or chocolate colored ink for a bit more definition, but it's too late because this one was mailed out days ago!

Are you feeling inspired yet??

Kickoff Post

Well, I created this blog a million years ago (or more accurately 3 years ago) because I wanted to share my struggles with crafting. I subscribe to the scrapbook magazines and see all the cool tutorials online and yet my stuff never looks quite as perfect as I intend. I can't be the only one who started looking for inspiration that was more in line with my meager skill set...can I? Anyone? Hello???

Anywaaaaaaay...

This is the blog of one average crafter trying to make memorable projects. Welcome!

----

To start us off, it seems only right to post a project that is new to me. Cardmaking. I've always wanted to make cards but they never seem to be as unique or beautiful as I'd like. However, my limited budget these days seems to be going directly into clothing my darling daughter, I decided I better put some of the thousands of dollars in scrapping supplies I have to good use.

Supply List:
Paper - Carolyn Gavin Greenhouse for K & Company
Circle Cutter - Creative Memories
Border Punch - Fiskars
Glitter - Stickles

My handy dandy card making trick is to always use double sided paper and a border punch. It always makes the card feel more polished in my opinion.

Hopefully, this will be the first post of many!! Cross your fingers.
